Yellow Mountain Trail in the Coosa Wildlife Management Area.  7 miles and 800 foot elevation change. The Yellow Mountain Trail to the top, then the Shope Gap Trail to the Duncan Ridge Road, follow the road to the Mill Shoal Creek Trail which will take us back to the Campground.  Relax at the beautiful creek at the end of the hike.  1 hour drive to trailhead.  Carpool amount is $5.00.

Joint long and short hike due to Wilderness Wildlife Week.  Hogpen Gap to Wolf Laurel Top, back to Tesnatee Gap.  With a side trip to a beautiful overlook toward Whitley Gap Shelter (6.6 miles, ≈ 3:30 hrs).  Carpool amount is $2.00.

Helen to Unicoi State Park Lodge and return. An easy and scenic 5.6 mile (2.5 hrs) round trip hike.

Gahuti Backcountry Trail in Fort Mountain State Park. An 8.2 mile moderate to strenuous hike with good fall views. State Park Pass or current parking fee.  Carpool amount is $5.00.

GA AT series 8.  Unicoi Gap to Indian Grave Gap on the AT and return on the Rocky Mountain Trail.  A 5.5 mile hike ( ≈ 3:40 hrs ) with 1,000 ft. elevation gain both directions.  MHH “favorite.”

Chunky Gal Trail from Bob Allison Campground to Tusquitee Bald.  7.5 strenuous miles round trip.  2,200 foot elevation gain.  Scenic area with giant hickories and old growth hemlocks.  Carpool amount $5.00.
